In fish farming activities usually fish farmers desperately need the feed to be given to farmed fish in container cultivation. The feed there are two types of natural food and artificial feed. Natural food is given as living things feed on aquatic organisms.
While artificial feed is feed made from a variety of animal and vegetable raw materials with attention to nutritional content, the nature and size of fish that will consume the feed in a way created by humans with the help of the feed equipment. On natural food and artificial diets must be considered on its nutritional content so that the fish fed to grow and thrive.
As is known the feed or food consumed by fish is the main energy source in the body of the fish. Food that enters the body of the fish is converted into chemical energy and stored by the body in the form of ATP (Adenosine triphosphat).
The energy from the food that will be used by the fish to its activities. Energy obtained from food will be able to provide the growth and development of aquaculture fish if the food given has sufficient nutrition for every type of fish. Therefore, it is very important to know the energy requirements for each type of fish. As it is known that artificial food must contain more than 3,000 kilocalories of energy in order to deliver good growth for fish farming.
