As with any other panaque genus, this fish is equipped with sharp teeth scoop with the wider end. Fish is also equipped with a buccal papilla which cover the skin in the mouth.

For treatment at the aquarium, royal pleco require large tanks because of his size that can grow large. For a young fish need aquarium with a length of at least 60-80 cm. As for the adult fish need a tank with a length of 150-200 cm tall and 60 cm wide. Providing a wide size aquarium fish that are also due to territorial. Aquarium that is too narrow will make fish attack each other and can cause severe injuries.

Setting aquarium with little light or multiply hiding place. Large timber or a lot of branches are suitable as aquarium decoration. Giving hard-leaved plants as decorations will also make the fish more comfortable. The water should be soft with a pH of 6-7 and a temperature of 22-300C. This fish needs a very good oxygenation, especially at the level of the water base. Filtration should be strong enough for the fish will throw a lot of dirt after a meal. Royal pleco have peaceable character. Fish are non aggressive or more aggressive spring will fit when used tankmate like cichlid or barb. Do not mix it with a very aggressive fish because it will hurt the fish

Fish that have a Latin name synonymous Chaetostomus nigrolineatus has a herbivorous nature. In their natural habitat, they will eat a variety of plant materials ranging from wood rot, algae and many other aquatic vegetation. therefore, think back to take care of the aquascape. For the treatment to be given food seperrti aquarium algae, cucumber, lettuce, spinach, and foods made from vegetable tablets. This fish also received a pellet of fish, but better when pellets derived from plants. Some breeders choose their own pellets made from crop variety as a food fish.

Royal pleco breeding techniques in the aquarium is unusual. Fish stocks in the market mostly harvested from the wild. Fish population is expected to continue to decline due to illegal arrests in nature for trading. If you want to try breeding her, try to make a clone of the dry season followed by the rainy season in the aquarium. Simulation of the rainy season can be prepared by making a water cooler, softer and more acidic. Rainwater can be an alternative to the turn of the water to spawn processes. Gender discrimination in the pleco is very difficult, usually the distinction can be made by looking at the papilla. If the papilla rounded and blunt means the female gender and small pointy whereas if the male sex.
