Clown Killifish



Clown killifish (Pseudepiplatys annulatus) or commonly known as Clown killifish Panchax or Rocket comes from West Africa mainly from Liberia and Guinea. Clown killifish has a bright attractive colors with yellow and black vertical stripes along the body.
 
Anal fin and back of the same color with a pattern on his body, which is particularly blue tail with red strips (resembling the color of fire rocket). Fish of the small family Aplocheilidae is about 4 cm (1.5 inches) and live in conditions of environmental temperature 23 - 250C and pH 6 to 7.2. Clown killifish are omnivores accept a variety of foods such as daphnia, bloodworm, and other commercial food pellets.


In their natural habitat, Clown killifish live in rivers and shallow waters. Need for care in the aquarium fish known as a cover because the smart jumper, these properties are rarely owned by other killifish. This fish is a slow swimmer so that placement with other more aggressive fish can make it stressful. Clown killifish better maintained in the group. Aquarium need to exposed to sunlight for a few hours each day to keep the color of the fish to keep it beautiful.

The males are larger and have brighter colors than the female fish. Breeding techniques can be done by setting up the tank with a pH of 5.5 and a temperature of 79 - 820F and provided a lot of food to live. 3 Place the fish with the composition of 1 male and 2 females lay their eggs in the tank and the process will take place within a few days. Separate the egg every 24 hours for 2 weeks before the parent returned to normal tank (recommended for process spawn no more than 1 week). Newly hatched baby fish can be fed infusoria and after a few days they were ready to eat bloodworm.
